The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday suspended its spokesperson Nupur Sharma and the media cell head of its Delhi unit, Naveen Kumar, from the primary membership of the party following objectionable and communal statements (आपत्तिजनक और सांप्रदायिक बयान) made by them on Prophet (पैगंबर)Muhammed and Islam.
The disciplinary action (अनुशासनात्मक कार्यवाही )comes amid a diplomatic outrage, especially in West Asian nations.
Social media was flooded with protests, with a call to boycott Indian products in the Gulf countries.
External Afairs Ministry said that the tweets do not, in any manner, reflect the views of the Government of India. These are the views of fringe elements... strong action has already been taken against them.”
Qatar and Kuwait summoned India’s Ambassadors in Doha and Kuwait City, respectively, and demanded a “public apology” from New Delhi.
The Indian Embassy in Doha and Kuwait subsequently issued statements clarifying that the comments “did not refect the views of the Government of India”.

10% ethanol blending goal met, says PM
India has achieved the target of 10% ethanol blending (मिलाना )in petrol, five months ahead of schedule. This, he claimed, had led to a reduction (कमी )of 27 lakh tonnes of carbon emissions and saved foreign exchange worth ₹41,000 crore.Farmers earned ₹40,600 crore in the past eight years due to increase in ethanol blending, “Road map for ethanol blending in India, 2020-25”, which laid out a pathway for achieving 20% ethanol blending by 2025-26.
